But as Nougat continues to creep towards double digits in terms of Android version distribution, and with Android 7.1.2 now out for a number of devices, we thought it was time to revisit the Android N release.

Updated notification shade in Nougat
Nougat redesigned the notification shade, which now features a smaller array of icons for settings, replaces notification cards with a new “sheet” design, and allows inline replies for notifications. Multiple notifications from a single app can also be “bundled”, and there is greater per-app control over notifications. - Balei-balei
In December 2015, Google announced that Android Nougat would shift the Java Runtime Environment from the defunct Apache Harmony to OpenJDK—the official open source implementation of the Java platform maintained by Oracle Corporation and the Java community. - Security
In response to the Stagefright family of bugs disclosed and fixed in 2015, several changes were made to harden the media stack against future vulnerabilities. Runtime integer overflow detection is implemented, preventing most programming bugs such as Stagefright from becoming vulnerabilities, in addition to helping to fix and prevent those bugs.
