What is CPU-Z – CPU-Z is a freeware utility from CPUID that detects information about your computer’s processor, motherboard, memory, and graphics card. This software provides an in-depth report on the specifications and performance of your computer hardware. The following image shows the CPU details in the CPU-Z program. What is CPU-Z

CPU-Z is a free detection program for Microsoft Windows, which helps collect system information and then shows the details on a single screen. It is developed by CPUID, and is updated regularly, supports most processors &chipsets.

If you don’t mean to see detailed information about your computer’s hardware, sometimes you may want to know what type of processor or how much RAM your PC has. Like for example, do you know the type of RAM or the bus speed? This is important when it comes to upgrading your PC to add more RAM.

Users can submit their system specifications and performance results to the CPU-Z database online. Uploading the resulting file, which uses the .cvf file extension, to CPU-Z allows users to compare the performance of their computer with other computers. CPU-Z also uses that information to create a Hall of Fame for the fastest and best-performing computers.

As I mentioned above, CPUID updates this tool regularly to add more features and support for new CPUs and chipsets. The good news is that it is available as a portable version, which you can download and run, no need to install.
