What is Google Classroom – Google Classroom is a suite of online tools that allows teachers to assign assignments, have assignments submitted by students, bookmark, and return graded papers. It was originally planned for use with laptops in schools, such as Chromebooks, to allow teachers and students to share information and assignments more efficiently.

As more and more schools have turned to online learning, Google Classroom has been used much more widely as teachers quickly implement paperless instruction. Classrooms work with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, Earth, Calendar, and Gmail, and can be supplemented with Google Hangouts or Meet for face-to-face teaching or questions.

Since Google Classroom is online based, you can access it in some form from almost any device with a web browser. Processing is mostly done on Google’s end, so even older devices can handle most of Google’s resources.

There are device-specific apps for the likes of iOS and Android, while those also work on Macs, PCs, and Chromebooks. The big advantage of Google is that on most devices it is possible to do work offline, uploading when a connection is found. These all allow teachers and students to use Google Classroom as they can connect to it via any personal device.
