What is OBS – OBS stands for Open Broadcaster Software, a free, open source video production software supported by a large community of developers from around the world.
OBS can be used for streaming video production, and video recording. When you first download and install OBS, the setup wizard will ask you if you want to optimize the software for recording or live streaming as it has the ability to incorporate many different audio visual sources into a live video production environment. OBS also supports many plugins which can extend its functionality to include features such as NDI support, VST plugins, and stream deck controls.
What is OBS
OBS can be an offline video recording and live streaming solution compatible with both Mac and Windows. With an open canvas approach to video creation, this tool can combine multiple audio and video sources into a single output for creative video and broadcast applications. Recording is very easy with this multifunctional application as OBS has the ability to record directly to your hard drive using record only mode or in conjunction with live streaming simultaneously.
Talking about live streaming, OBS allows live streaming to several popular streaming services including Youtube, Facebook Live, Twitch, Twitter, and Mixer with the built-in ability to stream to your own custom RTMP server.
